The holidays can be a stressful time of year, but treating yourself a little now and then can go a long way in terms of keeping morale high amidst all the craziness. So when Southgate Centre asked me to make a holiday wishlist from their roster of retailers, it was a therapeutic process to say the least. Now I don't expect anyone to rush out and buy me an MK bag or iPad Air (you're officially off the hook, Mr. AiF), but it sure is fun to dream nonetheless. London Newbies ! Fresh, Pai, Zoya, John Masters Organics et Mario Badescu.
Ca y est, on y est, le retour après une absence assez longue sur le blog, le retour des vacances, le bilan des achats frénétiques… Je ne vous cache pas que je serais bien restée encore outre-manche, même en 8 jours je n'ai pas eu le temps de voir tout ce que j'aurais aimé voir… Mais ça me fera une bonne excuse pour y retourner.
Coté shopping, forcément il fallait que je ramène quelques trucs cosmétiques qu'on ne peut pas ou difficilement se procurer en France, mais ça reste quand même en fringues que je me suis le plus lâchée.
Rapide bilan…
Chez Fresh…
L'unique boutique Fresh d'Europe se situe à Marylebone High Street un quartier de Londres hyper joli avec de petites rues typiques et bien entretenues (et pas mal de boutiques françaises). C'était ma première virée shopping alors forcément je me suis fait plaisir sans culpabiliser.
J'ai choisi 2 Lip treatments : Plum et Rosé, un parfum Brown Sugar (la fragrance originelle de la marque), et un Kit pour les fêtes, comprenant la Seaberry body cream, le Brown Sugar body Polish et un autre Lip treatment en Berry.
Je conseille vraiment un détour par cette boutique (merci Laura!) qui est vraiment toute mignonne, les vendeuses sont adorables et très contentes de faire essayer tous leurs produits, les odeurs sont subtiles et les produits vraiment de qualité.
Petit bémol tout de même : Le parfum que j'ai acheté était défectueux. Sans que je ne sorte une seule fois la bouteille de la boite il s'est vidé de moitié (comme on peut le voir sur la photo) ma valise sent le Brown Sugar A VIE.
Mais j'ai emailé la boutique et on pu rapidement trouver une solution, les parfums ne pouvant apparemment plus être envoyé par la poste j'ai choisi d'autres produits qui viendront en rapidement remplacement de celui-ci.
Chez Pai...
Pai c'est une marque hyper naturelle et éco-friendly qui me tentait depuis des lustres. Je dis "chez Pai" mais en fait j'ai acheté cette marque chez Whole Foods Market. Alors "petit" aparté sur Whole Foods :
1/ J'aurais pu passer 6 heures là bas. Tous les jours. Non j'déconne, quand même... un jour sur deux disons!
2/ J'aurais fait mes courses là-bas pour les 6 prochains mois si j'avais pu ramener 50kg de bouffe avec moi.
3/ Je pensais que les anglais mangeaient (principalement) des trucs des dégueulasses, et que c'était pas hyper facile de trouver des légumes et tout un tas de trucs Bio. Mais en fait Whole Foods c'est le Biocoop / Bio c bon du futur !
En gros c'est un magasin avec de la bouffe Bio en veux-tu en voilà. Mais attention le magasin est magnifique, y a pas un truc qui dépasse. Y a des thés à n'en plus pouvoir et tous les fruits de la terre séchés. Bref. Je. Veux. Vire. Dans. Un. Whole Foods Market.
(….Aparté hystérique terminé)
Pour en revenir à la beauté donc, Whole Foods propose aussi tout un tas de produits cosmétiques et bien être naturels. J'y ai trouvé un Kit Pai comprenant La Roseship Biogenerate Oil que je voulais depuis longtemps, et pour à peine plus que le prix de l'huile seule il y avait aussi le Masque de la même gamme ainsi qu'un Muslin Cloth. J'en ai aussi profité pour embarquer le Lip Balm à la Bergamotte.
Et enfin : Zoya, Mario Badescu, JMO...
Autre trouvaille chez Whole Foods : Le Dissolvant Zoya qui était lui aussi sur ma liste de choses à rapporter impérativement. Et je comprends maintenant tout ce raffut autour de ce qui reste un dissolvant. Il ne pue pas, il est très efficace et il contient beaucoup moins de produits nocifs. Merci à Caroline de m'avoir dit qu'on le trouvait là-bas!
Toujours chez Wohle Foods j'ai encore pris une crème de jour antioxidante à la rose et à l'abricot de chez JMO. Je ne connais pas du tout leur gamme visage et je suis ravie de pouvoir essayer.
Enfin un produit Mario Badescu que je voulais aussi, celui-là je l'ai trouvé chez Harvey Nichols (dans un petit rayon tout bien caché - merci Alexia sans toi je n'aurais jamais trouvé où me procurer la marque!).
Je pensais que cette marque était plus présente en Angleterre mais apparemment ce n'est pas le cas. Il s'agit donc d'une lotion asséchante, à utiliser localement. Je n'ai pas encore eu l'occasion de l'essayer pour le moment.
Les déceptions… C'est tout pour ce qui est des coups de coeur, en résumé Fresh + Whole Foods = L.O.V.E. J'ai aussi beaucoup aimé Liberty même si je ne me suis rien achetée là-bas. Par contre j'ai été hyper déçue par deux enseignes : Space NK et Boots.
Déjà Boots parce que c'est vraiment hypeeeeeeer cheap. Je ne m'attendais pas à ça. Des sandwichs côtoient des shampoings et des médicaments, les magasins sont très moches et il y en a un environ tous les 10 mètres 30 (ou presque hein…). Bref j'ai vraiment pas eu envie de me ruiner là-bas c'est le moins qu'on puisse dire.
Et puis Space NK. Alors je n'en ai fait qu'un seul et certainement pas le plus grand (celui de Marylebone High Street pas loin de la boutique Fresh) mais j'ai trouvé le concept vraiment sur-évalué, les vendeurs hautains et qui préfèrent discuter entre eux que de te dire "Bonjour, avez-vous besoin d'aide?".
Et pourtant, en tant qu'adepte du Bon Marché ou autre BHV franchement ce n'est pas un vendeur hautain qui va me faire peur loin de là. Mais là, j'ai détesté l'ambiance! Surtout que les Anglais sont plutôt chaleureux et te demandent comment du vas, si tu es en vacances ici, quand tu repars. Bref, une certaine sympathie à laquelle on s'habitue vite! Donc je suis peut-être tombée dans la mauvaise boutique mais en tout cas j'ai été déçue.
Voilà pour ce finalement très long et indigeste bilan, mais j'espère que ça vous aura quand même intéressées.

Yes, I've treated myself (the Pre-Christmas time is a good excuse, I think) and got those super pretty black Prada Baroque round sunglasses. They were on top of my wishlist along with some other designer sunglasses quite a while now and they're finally mine and definitely worth every penny. Love the high quality, they're such a timeless statement-piece and the round shape goes very well with my oval face shape. So happy!
Ja, ich hab mir vor Kurzem endlich mal eine Designer-Sonnenbrille gegönnt. Die Vorweihnachtszeit ist Schuld! Ich hab mir einen lang ersehnten Wunsch erfüllt und mich für die schwarze Prada Baroque Sonnenbrille entschieden, die ein ganzes Weilchen mit weiteren Schätzchen ganz oben auf meiner Wunschliste stand. Gefunden habe ich sie zum Glück noch online bei Mister Spex denn in Berlin und Hamburg wurde ich schon gar nicht mehr fündig.
Die Qualität ist mal was ganz Anderes (sollte man bei dem Preis auch erwarten), sie ist ein zeitloses Statment-Piece und der relativ runde Rahmen passt überraschenderweise wirklich gut zu meiner ovalen Gesichtsform (hab immer Probleme eine an mir gut aussehende Sonnenbrille zu finden) und gerade auch deshalb wirklich jeden Cent wert.

I actually got the sweater out of a sudden idea to kind of look like it and wear it with waved hair peeping out of a black - or possibly red - beret, red lips and pair it with tiny black hotpants, dark tights and chunky heels. Would have made a nice combo; I thought the knit would be kind of oversized and hang loose on my shoulders. Which it didn't. It was kind of fitted and with the fluffy mohair it made me feel like an albino orangutang instead. So I'll pass that look onto some tiny tiny petite person instead :)
{Wardrobe Wednesday} Lips Rings
This Wardrobe Wednesday features a save or splurge component which doesn't quite apply to me because — let's face it — I had to go be all greedy and buy both. To be fair, I ordered the CC Skye version online before I knew Forever 21 carried a fun, Lulu Frost-inspired version for a fraction of the price. Woe is me. Regardless, I felt the need to have both. Because really, after shelling out over 100 big ones for a trend item, what's five more.
The verdict? Despite the aforementioned trend (read: fleeting) nature of the design, I actually much prefer the CC Skye version. It's smaller, more streamlined and far more flattering to wear, translating to 20x more use than it's inexpensive counterpart... So on a cost-per-wear basis, the CC Skye version is actually a way better deal, right? Oh come on, humour me.

SHOPPING, CASH BACK AND CHOCOLATE / OSTOHYVITYS.FI
I have a new affiliate which I am going to present here to you. It is for the Finnish market, but we'll do the talking in English anyway, as we are used to over here.
The site I am adding to my affiliate list is Ostohyvitys.fi. It's the first cash back site in Finland. What that literally means is that you get part of your cash back when shopping online; a certain percentage (or, in some cases, a fixed sum) from a purchase you have made via the cash back site. This service is possible as Ostohyvitys kind of works as an affiliate for online stores, being a portal to shop trout,h directing customers forward and giving part of it's affiliate commission to the shopper itself (from some sites a percentage even higher than 10% of a purchase). By logging in and visiting stores trough the site you collect your bonus which will then be paid back to your bank account. (Which happens when you have collected 15euros in returns, or more). A small forever ongoing sale, sort of.
I originally signed up to get a free chocolate bar (chocolate, you know, always works as a bribe for me ;) without thinking too much about it. But then I looked into the system and now I am totally hooked. I try to remember to always check with Ostohyvitys.fi first if there is something I need to get online - it would be stupid not to. There are over 450 stores and service providers to choose from -so many it's almost surprising- both Finnish stores as well as international ones. Not the most niched ones of course, but still a crazy lot; several hotels and hotel booking sites (for example 5% off a hotel booking at hotels.com), virtual malls and fashion stores like Asos, Ellos, Zalando and Nelly, flight companies and travel agencies, Akateeminen Kirjakauppa, Apple Store, lots of magazines, etc.

Många bäckar små… as we say in Swedish; a buck or two here and there turns into quite a lot in the end. For example, I buy some of my eco makeup via Nelly as they have a 11,5% bonus percentage. So my mascara (Une Green Pride btw, it is very good) which is 20,50 at Nelly is then18,40 for me! So I can't really see any reason for anyone not to sig up, hence the affiliation.

For those of us who view shopping as a competitive sport (you know who you are), there's no greater thrill than getting lost in a great online store... Sometimes that involves pajamas and ice cream in bed (who said that?), while other times it means copious amounts of links sent to your bff in the middle of the night for a second option. I recently got lost on the Harrods website, discovering new-to-me labels and old, drool-inducing favourites. Right off the bat, I fell in love with their Pinko, McQ Alexander McQueen and Just Cavalli offerings, dreaming up outfits (as one does) and building quite the wish list (don't tell Mr. AiF!). High Low Dressing
A bit of extra hardware and detail goes a long way in winter.
The black-grey winter canvas is so much more appealing when a bit of gleaming metal or embossed leather is thrown into the mix. Plus, finishing of with something ever-so-slightly more showy means you can get away with slumming it in whatever’s warmest everywhere else. Win win.
Enter Kurt Geiger, whose accented accessories are going to save me from descending into total drudgery this season. This backpack is basically a reasonably priced version of the infamous crocodile sack from The Row, while the boots would be just flashy enough with grey skinny jeans and a long, wool Crombie coat.

I'm not normally a huge trainer person (aside from my NBs) but I've found myself getting more and more into these unisex platform sneakers by new Swedish brand Eytys recently. I think the top editorial image from Elle Sweden might have kicked it all off... Reconfigured Tommy Hilfiger socks for me too. Picturing them with blue denim and a big black parka right now.
The plain white canvas ones are my favourite but black suede would be good for winter too.

London escape : Mes envies shopping beauté
Ca y est les billets pour Londres sont réservés. Si vous suivez un peu mon blog vous savez que ça fait un bail que je n'ai pas eu de vacances, alors je compte bien en profiter. Il y a un demi milliard de truc que j'ai envie de faire : musées, restos, sorties, peut-être concert aussi, mais ça n'ira pas sans passer par la case shopping!
Je compte bien entendu me rendre dans les traditionnels Topshop-Primark-UrbanOutfitters (le trio de folie!), mais aussi dans tout un tas d'enseignes beauté proposant plein de marques difficilement accessibles en France. Voilà donc ma première petite sélection (susceptible d'évoluer de s'agrandir évidement...).
First thing first : Le teint. J'ai hyper envie de craquer pour le nouveau Smooth finish Foundation Powder de Laura Mercier, ansi que pour le pinceau teint Super Foundation Brush de Louise Young (je ne sais pas ce que j'ai avec les pinceaux teint en ce moment, après mon Airbrush Finish de Tarte commandé sur Sephora.com je compte bien me procurer celui là aussi!).
Coté Soins, bizarrement j'ai très peu d'envie. Je vous en parlais dans cet article, en ce moment je m'en tient vraiment au minimum et j'ai peu envie de changer. Mais il y a une marque dont j'entends tout le temps parler en ce moment, il s'agit de Mario Badescu, apparemment adapté pour les peaux sujettes aux boutons, et moi ce qui m'intrigue surtout dans la gamme c'est la Drying Lotion, une lotion asséchante qui permettrait de complètement assécher un bouton dans la nuit. Nouveau remède miracle? Je ne sais pas mais en tout cas il viendra remplacer mon Blemish Control d'Aesop (trop cher par rapport à son efficacité moyenne). Sinon il y a aussi le nouveau Lipbalm de REN pour lequel je risque fort de succomber!
Pour les Cheveux, il me faut absooooolument un produit Oribe! (On ne peux pas les commander sur SpakeNK parce qu'il s'agit d'aérosols qui font l'objet d'une réglementation spéciale... Je vais enfin pouvoir les essayer!) Le Dry texturizing Spray est le premier dans ma ligne de mire, mais je ne garantis pas qu'il sera mon seul craquage de la marque... Mais je vais probablement m'en tenir aux petits formats tant les prix sont exorbitants. Dans une gamme beaucoup plus abordable, j'ai vu que les produits Aussie étaient dispo chez Boots, je compte donc bien me prendre un 3 Minute Miracle Mask histoire de voir ce qu'il a dans le ventre, apparemment il y en a plusieurs sorte, je me dirigerai je pense vers le "Luscious Long".
Et puis, comment ne pas passer par la boutique Fresh? Je ne suis pas encore très sûre de ce pourquoi je vais craquer là-bas mais comme je me retrouve à court de lotion pour le corps celle-ci au Citron de vignes me tente plutôt pas mal (bien que j'ai du mal à en comprendre le nom: un citron, dans une vigne??).
LE truc sans lequel je ne repartirai pas (c'est sûr, je ferai tout Londres s'il le faut!) c'est ce Dissolvant Zoya. C'est con tout ce raffut autour d'un dissolvant non? Mais cette blogueuse que j'adore ne cesse d'en vanter les mérites. Et puis Last but not least, je veux aboslument (oui je sais on dit je voudrais!) une Bougie de chez Malin+Goetz en vente chez SpaceNK. La senteur Dark Rum me parle le plus mais je verrais bien une fois en boutique si mes impressions sont confirmées.
Voilà c'est tout pour cette (imposante) whishlist. J'ai hâte de mettre ma main sur ces bêtes. J'espère ne pas craquer pour un million d'autres trucs pas prévus au programme mais vous verrez tout ça à mon retour. Je parle de retour mais en réalité, je ne pars pas tout de suite, donc cette liste est susceptible d'évoluer encore...

Le Weekend
I thought it might be nice to do a little weekly post after the weekend just so I can succinctly highlight any great eats, purchases or general things I got up to. So here goes, let me know what you think.
After a busy Thursday and Friday, I was ready to do very little this weekend and much of it was spent catching up on sleep, movies and visiting family. Here's how it panned out.
I ate... Pre-cinema chicken fix at Nandos (I'm sorry but its just so good) and an awesome homemade prosciutto and cherry tomato omelette Jamie whipped up.
I drank... Delicious blackberry Mojito's at Ruby's in Dalston.
I watched... Captain Philips at the Cinema (amazing true story - perfect edge-of-your seat Saturday night stuff) and the beautiful, thought-provoking Breathe In on the sofa.
I wore... Lilac lace undies by New Zealand label Lonely from Urban Outfitters (the black straps and longline shape make the pastel really doable and cool) and lots of gold fine jewellery. My current faves are this one by Jessie Harris and necklaces by Orelia (find them in Topshop).
I went... To the hairdressers. Round two of highlights with Neville at Vidal Sassoon on South Molton street. I'm now blonde all over rather than ombre...
COTTON CANDY KNIT AND A BEADED TURBAN
And you know I love gifts, or well, who wouldn't. I mean really, who?
I got a vintage dead stock knitted top.
It requires a cardigan to go along for now but come sunshine and warmth again it will be very happy outside on its own. It made me think o cotton candy; it's color and knit pattern.
That I decided to use for a fan dance number of mine, and here's a shot of that from a small and very red backstage.
The Coat
Maybe its because of the slightly sickly aftertaste of the 'pink coat' furor, or the fact I've been re-watching Dawson's Creek and thoroughly enjoying the kids' oversized geeky overcoats, but I'm really feeling a proper camel crombie this winter.
I like mine in the vein of 90s Kate; long (not hard on me), loose and mannish. From the ones below, I'm toying between the Smythe and Maison by Michel. Both pretty near to perfect.

Coveting
Is there anyone out there not hankering after this jumper? I’m not normally an ‘it item’ person, or even a ‘statement item’ person come to that, but I have to admit I’ve fallen hard for Stella’s perfect plaid. Also hankering after the perfect ripped skinnies to tuck into patent boots, and all those little extras that make basic autumnal combinations of grey, black and all things knitted feel just that a bit more exciting.

I guess some of your aren't big fans of those kinda days when you look like a "walking onion", but I sometimes love it (especially right now). You can walk around town with your coziest and comfiest pieces on, which don't have to be always unfashionable!
Anyway Guess has a new campaign called "Sexy without question", which is available in stores now. They had they're focus on denim, designed in every possible of way: Rhinestones, studs and several washings. They gifted me the shirt you can see above (it's from the current collection), and I love the fabric (high quality Denim) and the detailing and it goes very well with my coated denim jeans. Rhinestones? A Western touch? Yes, you totally got me, Guess!
Ich denke viele von Euch sind nicht gerade Fan davon wie eine "umherwandernde Zwiebel" während dieser Jahreszeit herumzulaufen, aber ich liebe es ab und an. Man kann mal wieder mit den bequemsten und wärmsten Sachen durch die Stadt laufen, ohne dabei unbedingt immer unmodisch damit auszusehen!
Heute durfte endlich mal mein neues Jeanshemd zum Einsatz kommen. Ich find besonders Jeans im Herbst doch Recht praktisch, da es zu Einem dicker ist als manch dünne Seidenbluse und zum Anderen es auch ein wenig Farbe ins Outfit bringt. Das Shirt habe ich übrigens freundlicherweise von Guess bekommen, das aus der neusten "Sexy without question" Kampagne ist und überraschenderweise sehr gut zu meiner beschichteten Jeans passt. Steinchen? Ein Western-Touch? Damit habt Ihr bei mir genau ins Schwarze getroffen, Guess! Dieses Jahr haben sie ihren Fokus komplett auf hochwertiges Jeansmaterial gesetzt und die verschiedensten Designs und Extras rausgebracht: Strasssteine, Nieten und unterschiedliche Waschungen. 
Now I'm sitting here on my sofa in my new home, satisfied with today's shopping spree, having a hot green tea next to me while watching a super icky Bollywood-movie. Why am I always crying when I see Shah Rukh Khan singing one of his sadest but most romantic songs to his love of his life? Gosh, I'm too sensitive for that, but I watch it anyway! :D
So nun sitze ich hier auf mein Sofa in meinem neuen Zuhause, habe eine Tasse heißen Grünen Tee neben mir stehen, schau einen super kitschigen Bollywood-Film in extremer Überlänge im TV und bin im Übrigen noch vollends zufrieden über meine heutige Shopping-Ausbeute.
Nachteil: Ich muss immer bei solchen Filmen losheulen, vor allem wenn Shah Rukh Khan (wie kann es auch anders sein?!) wieder mal eines seiner gefühlten hundert super traurigen aber doch so romantischen Lieder über die Liebe seines Lebens singt? Ich bin glaub ich viel zu sentimental für sowas! :D
