I was lucky enough to be included in FASHION Magazine's winter issue, sporting my take on holiday-wear with this flirty Loft 82 dress. To be honest, I would gladly take shimmering gold fabrics, patent heels and pretty pearls any day of the week, but during the holiday season they feel all the more alluring... Kind of like crushed velvet and eggnog, but I digress.

Remember that trip to the mountains I referenced a couple weeks back? Well these photos were taken at the a lodge we were lucky enough to stay in. The weather was beautiful, the food and drink was plentiful, and we even saw our first fox, who was good enough to strike a pose for us... All in all, it was a good trip. And what's a good trip without proper attire, am I right? This plaid shirt/turtleneck combo screamed 'lodge-wear' to me, and when paired with a preppy blazer, it became the perfect hot-cocoa-by-the-doc, book-reading-by-the-fire look — Oh the power of fashion. xx

{Wardrobe Wednesday} Lips Rings

This Wardrobe Wednesday features a save or splurge component which doesn't quite apply to me because — let's face it — I had to go be all greedy and buy both. To be fair, I ordered the CC Skye version online before I knew Forever 21 carried a fun, Lulu Frost-inspired version for a fraction of the price. Woe is me. Regardless, I felt the need to have both. Because really, after shelling out over 100 big ones for a trend item, what's five more.

The verdict? Despite the aforementioned trend (read: fleeting) nature of the design, I actually much prefer the CC Skye version. It's smaller, more streamlined and far more flattering to wear, translating to 20x more use than it's inexpensive counterpart... So on a cost-per-wear basis, the CC Skye version is actually a way better deal, right? Oh come on, humour me.

Friday is finally here, which means Mr. AiF and I are off to a weekend in the mountains... A snowy, Christmas-themed getaway courtesy of the Edmonton Journal that encourages gorging on decadent foods and festive fun including — but not limited to — holiday crafts... Needless to say, we're pretty pumped. And if I don't succumb to a flock of feisty geese or an aggressive mink while I'm up there (hey, it happens),  I'll see you guys back here on Monday.

Finally Found THE Ankle Boot

She Said:

I had a secret I kept to myself for about 3 months; I was searching online, in stores and through other bloggers recommendation to find THE perfect tan ankle bootie. Surprisingly my search has come to an end, with a positive outcome. The highlight of today’s outfit are my new suede tan ankle boots with gold hardware purchased yesterday from Forever 21! I completely fell in love and HAD to take these home. Now that you know my secret, the rest of the look was simple. I paired my Jbrand skinny jeans tucked into the boots that are sleek and always fashionable. I added a chambray button down for a casual piece but paired a daring bebe asymmetrical faux leather vest on top. It will keep me warm and doesn’t cover the button down too much. Again I wanted the focus on my new purchase, so black and denim was a great contrast. Who doesn’t love some American spirit on their most loved gadget; I added my Charlotte Russe iphonecase in red, white and blue. It is rustic and stylish in my Phillip Lim by Target mini satchel. The cognac color spices it up and attracts the fall hues all around. Do you recommend any favorite boot brands, styles or colors for this fall? Comment below.

I am 50/50 on this outfit and by that I mean I like 50% of the outfit I like and dislike the other. I will start with what I like, I like the black jeans, they fit her well and they are slimming. I love how the eyes follow her black legs to the floor and you get a great surprise at the end, a sexy pair of boots. These boots look great with her pants and the style just fits perfectly in with the bag. I am not a big supporter of this bag mostly because it seems to clash a little bit with the boots. I like her jean shirt and of course I love her cool iphone case. What I do not like is her vest, this vest is not flattering, it’s too loose, and the style is just plain horrible. Overall everything works but it could be amazing if the vest fit a little better.
